About the club

Stocksbridge Golf Club is a small friendly club situated approximately 11 miles north of Sheffield. The M1 junction 36 is only 5 miles away.

'The course overlooks the village of Deepcar, from its highets point 300m above sea level you can enjoy views of the Peak District National Park in the West and of the Lincolnshire Wolds to the East.

The club was founded in 1924 by a local steelworks for its employees, but membership soon became open to all. The course started as a nine hole course and was extended to 15 holes in 1982, the current 18 hole layout was completed in 1990

The course is best described as upland heath, is relatively short by today’s standards, but is devilishly tricky. The greens are small and tucked away, often close to punishing rough or heather (or both!)

The par is 65 from the yellow tees, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a pushover, if the wind is blowing the par may seem nearer 70!

At the end of your round have a drink and a bite to eat in our friendly bar

We have a resident professional Roger Broad who has a well stocked shop offering a wide range of goods and services.
